Analysis of Rihanna- Talk that talk album

Rihanna- Talk that talk album cover analysis

-In this album cover the most striking action that we see is the smoke coming out of her mouth. This shows her rebellious personality, her individuality and her 'naughty' side which gives her sex appeal

- Rihanna is looking straight at the camera and she is positioned in the centre of the image which automatically brings the attention onto her. The fact that it is a close up emphasises her dominance on screen. We see no clothes in the picture which gives her sex appeal too as it is teasing because we cannot see any part of her body apart from her shoulders. Her facial expression gives a seductive STAR IMAGE of her but also shows she has attitude.

-The font of the letter 'R' at that top left hand corner is very sharp and striking which gives her her own view to the public which is very different to anyone elses. The icon within the letter R has newspaper in it which we can read as a girl that is talked/gossiped about alot. Also the 'talk that talk' at the bottom is in capitals and in a very plain font which shows that she doesn't need to impress with fancy writing, as her photo is striking enough to get attention.

- The fact that her hair is down and that it is big and has volume shows her femininity, and so do her lips as the light is reflecting off of them to emphasise that they are big.

- The whole picture is in black and white which is very minimal. The photo in itself attracts attention even with no cover.

- On the back of the cover the writing is in red, which is bold and stands out from the rest as it is all in black and white as i previously commented on.

-The way that Rihanna is upside down emphasises how she goes against rules so chooses to do things her own way.

- She has a mixture of femininity and masculinity as she is wearing a suit jacket and a bow-tie with a cigarette however the stockings show her feisty side which is rather revealing.
